What to do if you’re moving out early?
Some of our tenants are moving out of their properties earlier than anticipated due tot he Covid-19 outbreak.
Your rent is still payable as usual unless you can show you have suffered financial hardship relating to Covid-19, in which case you may be able to agree a payment holiday, for more information about paying your rent, check out our blog post.
If everyone in your house is moving out early and don’t intend to return, you’ll need to make the same preparations as you would at the end of your tenancy. You can see them all here in our moving out guide.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, we will inspect your property after you have confirmed you have moved out rather than meeting for a face to face check out.
Please email your property manager, or local office to let them know when you intend to move out, and then to confirm you have all left the property.
Utilities
You will still be responsible for the utilities and council tax (if payable) in the property until the last day of your tenancy.
We can assist in proving meter readings from the last date of your tenancy if you request this in advance.
Returning your keys
You won’t be able to return your keys to our office whilst they are closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please contact your property manager to discuss how you can return your keys to us.
