Regulation of Property Agents (ROPA) proposals delayed?
The much anticipated Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) proposals may not be confirmed in legislation during this parliament. This is the conclusion of many agents and industry leaderswho attended this morning’s NAEA Propertymark conference in London.
Matt Prior, representing the housing directorate of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government was questioned on stage by by the BBC’s Sally Bundock and could not confirm or deny that the proposals would be implemented during the current parliament.
The proposals based on the recommendations from Lord Best’ working Group are designed to increase the the professionalism of the industry and weed out rogue operators.
